Franklin Gomez Secures Victory

Franklin Gomez pitched the final three innings, earning the win. Gomez retired six consecutive batters before hitting Bryce Madron to open the ninth inning. However, he quickly rebounded, retiring the next three hitters, including strikeouts of Rainiel Rodriguez and Deniel Ortiz to end the game.

Seventh Inning Rally Seals Mets Victory

The Mets broke the scoreless tie in the seventh inning. Trace Willhoite started the rally with an infield single against Palm Beach starter Nolan Sparks. After a lineout, Sparks hit Corey Collins with a pitch, placing runners on first and second.

Kevin Villavicencio then hit a ground ball to shortstop Anyelo Encarnacion, whose errant throw to second base allowed Willhoite to score the game’s first run. Collins advanced to third base and later scored on a wild pitch by Sparks, extending the Mets’ lead to 2-0.

Nolan Sparks Takes Tough Loss

Nolan Sparks pitched well despite the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits over seven innings. He struck out five Mets hitters without issuing any walks.

Willhoite was the offensive standout for the Mets, finishing 2-for-3 with a double.
