The Port St. Lucie City Council has approved a land use change for an 8-acre parcel at the northwest corner of Crosstown Parkway and Verano Parkway, shifting its designation from residential golf course to general commercial. This move is part of a broader trend of new development projects emerging in Port St. Lucie, reflecting the city’s ongoing growth and transformation.
The decision, made unanimously on March 23, follows a recommendation for approval by the Port St. Lucie Planning & Zoning Board earlier this month. The change will allow for a range of commercial uses, including retail with drive-throughs, restaurants, and automotive services, complementing significant changes already underway in the Southern Grove jobs corridor and supporting the city’s expanding industrial sector, such as the recent Project King industrial development.
