Port St. Lucie Temporarily Raises Yard Waste Pickup Limit

The City of Port St. Lucie will temporarily allow households to place up to 6 cubic yards of yard waste at the curb each week from March 30 to April 24, 2026. The City of Port St. Lucie Office of Solid Waste announced that this increase comes at no extra charge for residents. For those interested in how yard debris is processed after collection, the St. Lucie County baling and recycling facility process offers valuable insight into the journey of collected materials. Standard yard waste rules remain in place, and additional removal beyond the weekly limit is available for a fee. Residents should also be aware that waste disposal rates in Port St. Lucie are set to rise this November, which may impact future collection costs. To further support sustainability, the city has been working to enhance its green spaces; learn more about efforts to enhance the tree canopy with Florida-friendly trees throughout the community.
