Federal authorities investigated a reported bomb threat on JetBlue Airways flight 1231 from Boston after it landed at Vero Beach Regional Airport on March 14.
The aircraft was directed to a remote section of the airport, where Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents and a K9 unit searched the plane and passengers’ luggage. Passengers were escorted off and cleared approximately two and a half hours later. The incident caused a delay for the return flight, highlighting the importance of flight options and operational flexibility at Vero Beach Regional Airport. As VRB continues to develop as Florida’s next global gateway, safety and efficiency remain top priorities for travelers and airport officials alike.
