A Port St. Lucie shooting victim has died after being injured during a robbery that stemmed from a pre-arranged cellphone transaction at the Town Center at St. Lucie West. The Port St. Lucie Police Department announced Monday afternoon that Antoine Myers, 19, died after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head.
Cellphone Transaction Turned Armed Robbery
The victims were injured during a pre-arranged transaction involving cellphones that turned into a robbery at the Town Center at St. Lucie West on Saturday night, May 2. The transaction began initially at a Walmart in Fort Pierce, a location that has seen similar incidents in the past, such as the PSLPD’s investigation into a shooting and related robbery near McDonald’s on SW Port St. Lucie Blvd.
Myers and a second victim, Jermonti Johnson, 19, were visiting from Georgia. Both were shot inside a white Tesla before law enforcement arrived. Myers was shot in the head, and Johnson was hit in the abdomen.
Johnson remains hospitalized and is expected to survive.
Two Suspects Arrested, One Remains at Large
Officers responded at 6:36 p.m. to the 1600 block of Northwest St. Lucie West Boulevard, a shopping center that includes an Aspen Dental, a Walmart Supercenter, and a Miller’s Ale House. This area has been the focus of recent law enforcement activity, including the arrest of three individuals following a shooting and robbery investigation at a Port St. Lucie McDonald’s.
Sharlett Nylav Key, 18, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested and identified as the driver. She drove the two suspects around Fort Pierce and to Port St. Lucie and then away from the scene.
Martravious Aaron Blue, Jr., 19, of Fort Pierce, was also arrested and listed as an associate. The two face attempted second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm charges. Key faces a robbery charge.
Identified Shooter Remains at Large
The third suspect, Norrien Casminski, 18, of Fort Pierce, has been identified as the shooter and remains at large. Casminski has a criminal history, including burglary, grand theft, and violation of probation. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Other recent incidents, such as the Port St. Lucie pub parking lot shooting where no injuries were reported, highlight the importance of community vigilance.
Detectives and officers worked through the night into Sunday afternoon to develop leads and make arrests. Multiple scenes were processed with patrol officers, criminal investigation division detectives, crime scene investigators, K-9 officers, and other specialized personnel. Drones were also used.
