Two Rescued After Vehicle Enters Pond in Port St. Lucie Crash

Police officers rescuing two elderly people from car in pond after crash in Port St Lucie

Port St. Lucie Police Department officers rescued two elderly occupants from a vehicle that became partially submerged in a pond following a crash early Tuesday morning, an incident reminiscent of other recent emergencies such as the critical injury sustained by Sergeant Erik Levasseur in the line of duty.

The single-vehicle incident happened just after 4:30 a.m. near East Caribbean and Cam De Entrada. Police entered the water to assist an elderly woman driver and her male passenger. Both were transported to St. Lucie Medical Center as a precaution, highlighting the ongoing commitment of first responders in Port St. Lucie, especially in the wake of tragic events like the recent pedestrian fatality on SE Port St. Lucie Blvd and the motorcyclist-SUV collision near Crosstown Boulevard.
