A major portion of Indian River Mall in Indian River County is being demolished as part of a redevelopment project. The work affects the east end of the mall, including the spaces that once housed Macy’s and Sears. While demolition is in progress, JCPenney, Dillard’s, and the west end of the mall will remain open to shoppers. The mall is continuing partial operations during the redevelopment process, according to the Indian River Mall front office. For a look at similar redevelopment activities in the region, see how partial demolition is underway at Treasure Coast Mall, with key stores remaining open. Additionally, recent openings such as Elev8 Fun at Treasure Coast Square Mall in Jensen Beach are bringing new attractions to local shopping centers.
