City of Port St. Lucie city leaders have approved the sale of approximately 22.8 acres in the Southern Grove jobs corridor to Costco Wholesale Corporation for $6 million. This significant step follows recent developments, including the approval of the land deal for the new Costco store in Southern Grove.
Costco intends to build a retail warehouse store on the site, with potential features including a gas station and pharmacy. The Costco retail store proposal has been advancing through the city’s planning process. Plans for a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the same area were also approved, with the facility expected to offer 52 beds and medical offices. This development aims to help address the region’s health care needs, as highlighted by the recent efforts to address the Treasure Coast health care shortage with a new hospital. The Port St. Lucie City Council played a key role in advancing these approvals.
Nearly all of the 1,200-acre Southern Grove jobs corridor has now been sold or is under contract, leaving about 20 acres available.
