State of Florida – Large anti-Donald Trump demonstrations are underway across Florida as part of wider protests against President Donald Trump’s policies and actions. These events are linked to ongoing movements that have mobilized thousands statewide in previous months, including the Hands Off mass mobilization in Florida that drew significant attention earlier this year.
Organizers with groups like 50501 – known for its “No Kings” rallies – are calling on Florida residents to protest what they say are authoritarian actions by the Trump administration, including controversial military operations overseas and federal immigration enforcement tactics. Planned Florida protests include events in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Hollywood, Homestead and other cities.
In past “No Kings” demonstrations, thousands marched in major South Florida cities chanting for the protection of civil rights and denouncing what they call the erosion of democratic norms. Crowds have carried signs decrying “fascism” and demanding accountability from the federal government, as seen during the No Kings protest that drew thousands in Port St. Lucie.
Demonstrations have drawn attention not only for their size but for the strong sentiment they capture – from calls for immigration reform to demands that checks and balances be upheld. Protesters in Miami and Fort Lauderdale reiterated that their gatherings are meant to remain peaceful but powerful in messaging, especially during recent events such as Trump’s Florida visit and the protests planned across the Treasure Coast.
While protests are ongoing today, authorities and participants alike emphasize peaceful assembly and lawful expression of dissent, with many supporters expressing deep concern over Trump’s policies.
