The City of Port St. Lucie is gearing up to present its vibrant Irish Festival at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center on March 15, 2025. Set from 3 to 9 p.m., this event invites the public to enjoy Ireland’s rich traditions with complimentary entry. The festivities commence with a St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 3 p.m., leading into an evening filled with lively music, enticing cuisine, and festive spirit.
Music and Dance Performances
Attendees can look forward to performances by well-known artists with deep Celtic heritage. Featured performers include the Screaming Orphans, an all-sister group from Donegal, Ireland, famed for blending folk and pop. Rory Makem, an accomplished musician with over 35 years of experience, will share Irish folk tunes using a variety of instruments like the guitar, banjo, and mandolin. Additionally, the Palm Beach Pipes and Drums will perform traditional bagpipe music, a nod to Scottish culture.
The Tir Na Greine School of Irish Dance will also grace the festival, performing traditional dances. Originating from several Florida locations, the school offers programs for students aged five and up, from beginners to champions.
Culinary Delights and Cultural Exhibits
Festivalgoers can savor numerous traditional Irish and Celtic dishes, such as shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, and corned beef sandwiches, alongside authentic Irish drinks.
In addition to food and music, the festival includes the highland games, featuring athletic events like the caber toss and sheaf toss. A cultural section will educate visitors on various aspects of Irish life, including sports, renowned authors, native dog breeds, and traditional instruments.
Supporting the Community
Highlighting the spirit of giving, the festival encourages attendees to bring non-perishable canned goods to support the Treasure Coast Food Bank‘s community programs.
