Port St. Lucie Hosts ‘Swing into Spring Training 5K’ Event at Clover Park

The St. Lucie Mets gear up for the 2025 spring training season with a special event, the ‘Swing into Spring Training 5K’, taking place on February 22 at Clover Park. Presented by the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), this occasion coincides with the first day of Mets’ spring training, making it an exciting experience for fans and participants.

Event Details and Schedule

Scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m., the 5K precedes the Mets’ spring training opener against the Houston Astros, which begins at 1:10 p.m. The race is inclusive, inviting runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.

Registration and Participant Benefits

Race participants receive a comprehensive package, including race bibs, custom finisher medals, and ‘Swing into Spring Training’ T-shirts. Additionally, runners receive a swag bag and a ticket to select Mets’ spring training games on February 27, March 6, or March 23.

  • Adults: $40 until January 13, $45 after January 14, $50 on race day
  • Children 12 and under: $35 until January 13, $40 thereafter, $45 on race day
  • Children under three: Free
  • Team discount: $5 off per entry

Charitable Cause and Racecourse

A portion of the race proceeds will benefit Girls on the Run of the Treasure Coast. The route commences near the main gate of Clover Park, stretches along Peacock and California Boulevards, meanders through the practice fields, and finishes at the stadium’s home plate. Following the race, participants can enjoy refreshments, live music, and an awards ceremony at the stadium.

This year’s event is enhanced by a partnership with The 7 Line, a notable Mets fan club known for its community involvement. Darren Meenan from The 7 Line shared their excitement: “The 7 Line Run Club couldn’t be happier to be a part of the Mets official Spring Training 5K.
